TRUE TALES OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE
We named this tour after the Brooklyn Bridge because it forms a central narrative for the tour, and as part of that, we take you on a walk across the bridge, a New York experience you don’t want to miss. But there’s much more to it than that. We also hit two neighborhoods in Brooklyn and take in some highlights of Lower Manhattan.
We start in Brooklyn Heights, one of the city’s oldest and best preserved areas. After a stroll through gorgeous brownstones and past killer views of Manhattan, we’ll hit one of the city’s “newest” residential neighborhoods, Dumbo. You’ll learn about its illustrious past as a manufacturing center, its lean years as a backwater, and the recent revival what makes it such a special place in the present. Then we walk the Brooklyn Bridge itself, and you’ll hear the amazing story of how it was conceived, constructed and consecrated in New York’s mythos. There’s literally a little bit of everything in this tale – love, death, daring, luck and humor. You’ll also be treated to some absolutely classic views of New York City. We focus on telling great stories and making our tours like being shown around by an (exceptionally well-informed) friend. This tour is guaranteed to be fascinating and memorable, will give you a great perspective on the city, whether you’re a New Yorker or visiting for the first time. LENGTH: 2.5-3 hours COST: $35 per person WHEN: This tour does not run from December to February, except by appointment. Still not sure? Check out our reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp! |
