DO YOU DO CUSTOM TOURS?
Yes! Please visit our contact page and drop us a line. Let us know what parts of the city or what types of sites you’d like to see, and the dates you have in mind. Prices vary based on the length of the tour, the number of people and the areas covered.
CAN KIDS TAKE THE TOURS?
We generally restrict our tours to ages 18 and over, unless a previous arrangement has been worked out. Please let us know in advance if you’d like anyone under 18 on the tour.
DO YOU DO FOOD TOURS?
Yes! We have a food tour in the East Village! On most of our non-food tours we have a stop on the tour where you may purchase a snack, and we'll be happy to recommend restaurants at the end of the tour.
DO THE TOURS STILL RUN IN BAD WEATHER (E.G. RAIN, SNOW, HEAT)?
With the exception of major storms such as blizzards, hurricanes or some similar event, we run our tours rain or shine. We will make every effort to avoid inclement weather by spending more times indoors or undercover. However, be sure to wear the proper clothes for the weather, and bring an umbrella if necessary (we cannot provide them). In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel a tour, we will let you know immediately and reschedule the tour or refund your fee.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON THE TOUR?
Since this is a walking tour, wear something that you’ll be comfortable touring around in for three hours. Definitely have comfortable shoes, and layer your clothes in the spring, fall and winter, as temperatures vary more in these months.
CAN I TAKE PICTURES ON THE TOUR?
We encourage it! Along the way, we’ll point out some good photo opportunities and will even take the picture for you if you want to be in it.
SHOULD WE TIP THE TOUR GUIDE?
It’s really up to you. In NYC, it’s generally customary to tip your guide if you enjoyed the tour, but don’t feel pressured to if you didn’t like it or if you’re on a tight budget (it’s an expensive city!)
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
For public tours: all tours are pre-paid, but we offer your money back for any cancellations more than 48 hours from the tour. Cancellations less than 48 hours before the tour will receive a credit for a future date, but no money returned. No-shows (those scheduled for a tour who simply don’t arrive) will forfeit their payment.
For custom and private tours, we require pre-payment at least three weeks prior to the tour.
